Novellas and Novels
Hi Everybody!
Our friend, Daria, is now writing stories for you older kids. You know, the Tweens, the Teens, and those of you who call yourselves "Young People". Don't worry, she'll still have some of her art in her new books.
These books will be Novels and Novellas. What's the difference? Like you, we were confused about this too. So, we thought you'd want to know what we found out.
A novel is usually 200 pages or more and around 40,000 words or greater. A novella will have less than 200 pages and between 7,500 to 39,999 words. The other type of story is the short story and, well, it's shorter than both novels and novellas. Usually around 1,000 to 7,500 words. But what do you call it if it only has 39,000 words but has over 200 pages? Then we count the pages of written story text and if it's over 200 pages it's a novel. See, that was easy enough!
We hope that you enjoy these new books. We've seen some of her stories she's writing for you. She likes mysteries, and her first books will be mysteries. But if you have a particular type of story you like, just leave her feedback and she'll see what she can do.
Currently, we're journeying on new adventures and when we get back we'll tell Daria all about them. Then Daria will put together another "Epic Book for Kids".
